ABOUT THE CHURCH
In April 1991, Winning Grace International Church (formerly Grace Charismatic Church) was established in Koforidua-Ghana under the leadership of Bishop Gospel Frempong Osei-Tutu.
Being led by the Holy Spirit to plant the church, he embarked on vigorous evangelism and teaching programs with some few young people and by God’s grace the Lord began to confirm the work with rapid growth and great impact on the people and the community. The Headquarter Church in Baltimore-Maryland USA was established in April 2000 two years after Bishop had migrated there to further his education.
Winning Grace was established by the will of God to strategically unleash the sleeping giants in the hearts and souls of God’s people in order for them to fulfill all His purposes for their lives. Following the Biblical model of the New Testament church, WGIC embraces people of all walks of life, in spite of their nationality, ethnicity, culture, or social and economic status.
Moreover, WGIC is a Christ centered, Bible based, Spirit filled church with the Mission “To present everyone complete in Christ” (Colossians 1:28). We have grown significantly and now working and pursuing souls and helping them to grow in the Lord by planting churches and developing them.
Knowing the Biblical functions of the local church, our church is set up such that WORSHIP, the study of God’s WORD and WITNESSING dominate our activities. Our message is faithful to scriptures and life transforming. The music is fabulous and stimulates worship, the members are friendly and they support each other. Everything in the church is structured to help you become all that God intends for you. Be Blessed!
ABOUT OUR FOUNDERS
Bishop Gospel Osei-Tutu (PhD) and Rev. (Mrs.) Sarah Osei-Tutu are called and ordained by God to expound the truths of God’s Word to this generation in a simple and yet profound way. Bishop teaches God’s word with simplicity to bring clarity and understanding to God’s people. Lady Sarah is a hospitable and prayerful woman of God.
Bishop holds Masters in Divinity and PhD in Clinical Counseling. He is a conference speaker, an anointed teacher of God’s Word and an author. Lady Sarah holds her BA degree in
Accounting in University of Baltimore and various leadership and Biblical Training Certifications. The founders are godly people who do God’s work with integrity, diligence, and passion. They are compassionate and caring and are accessible to both member and those who need their help. They are blessed with four children who walk with the Lord and serve with them .
TEACHING CHURCH
Winning Grace takes the Teaching of God’s Word seriously. This is because it is one of the key elements in fulfilling the Great Commission, which is our mission: “Make Disciples of all nations” or “Presenting every one complete in Christ” (Matthew 28:19-20, Colossians 1:28).
Therefore, teaching and learning of God’s Word is paramount to our Church. Paul told Timothy that a good minister is a good teacher of the Word. One who is able to communicate the Word of God accurately and passionately (1Timothy 4:6). Paul also told Timothy:
1Timothy 4:11 “These things command and teach.”
1Timothy 4:16 “Take heed to yourself and unto the teaching.”
1Timothy 5:17 “Work hard in the Word and teaching.”
2 Timothy 1:13 “Hold on to sound words.”
2Timothy 2:15 “Study to show yourself approved unto God, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”
2Timothy 3:14 “Continue in the things you’ve learned.”
2Timothy 2:2 “The things you’ve heard from me commit to faithful men who
shall be able to teach others also.”
IMPORTANCE OF TEACHING
Teaching is Important because it:
- EDUCATES: It is one of the means of imparting knowledge, values, beliefs, understanding and information for godly living (2Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 5:12-14, 1Timothy 4:13, 2Timothy 4:2- 4).
- EDIFIES AND TRANSFORMS: It instills skills and habits in people, thereby promoting
spiritual growth and developing character. That’s why Paul prayed that we should be FILLED with the KNOWLEDGE of His will…” (Colossians 1:9-11, Colossians 3:16). - EQUIPS: It prepares and puts the student into a proper condition for the Master’s use. Through teaching the learner becomes ready to be used for the task at hand. (Ephesians 4:11-12, 2Timothy 3:16-17, Romans 15:14).
- ENCOURAGES: It motivates and inspires confidence to for those who apply themselves to be able to carry out God’s plan and live in His will (Hebrews 3:13, 10:24-25, 1Thessalonians 5:14, 2Timothy 4:2, Titus 1:9).
- EMPOWERS: It imparts spiritual strength, power and enablement for the student to function without inhibition or hindrances (Proverbs 24:5-6, Acts 9:22, 1John 2:14, 6:10, 1Timothy 1:12, Philippians 4:13, Hebrews 4:12-13) .
DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING PROGRAM
Just as the Apostles organized teaching programs for the early Christians, we have a program to help our members to become true Disciples of Jesus (John 8:30-32).
“… Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer…” (Acts 2:40-47). “And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So, it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch” (Acts 11:19-26).
There are three main courses of studies other than Membership Course.
a. FOUNDATION COURSE: This is a required course for new members of the church. It is designed to teach new believers about their salvation and the basic things that will help them to grow and enjoy their walk with God and to live victoriously (13 Lessons).
b. MATURITY COURSE: This class is an Advanced Discipleship Class. Students should have completed Membership and Foundation courses to enroll, except there is evidence that they have had prior studies of the lessons. It is necessary requirement to serve in any ministry of the church (13 Lessons).
c. LEADERSHIP COURSE: This course is designed to raise leaders for the church and the Body of Christ. This course is a necessary requirement for new leaders of the church (13 Lessons) .
