The Areas of Ministry in WGIC forms key aspects of our activities as a Church. These areas of ministry are carefully and prayerfully put together to meet the spiritual, social, physical and emotional needs of the people within the Church and in the community where God has placed us.
Although all these activities tend to be what EVERY believers should be doing, however, we know that God has called individual believer for specific purposes and we believe in bringing out the best in each other as a BODY, so that we will not only serve effectively in the local Church but also be the best in every other areas of our lives. Intercessory Prayer Team: This group comes together to pray for the needs of the Church as a “body”, the relevance of the Church within the community and for the peace of the land where God placed us as a Church. This team meets, currently, every Sunday at 9AM.
Counseling Team: This group’s main task is to look after the welfare of the Church as a body. Receiving and following up visitors and new members. They coordinate “Discipleship Classes” for new members in order to fully integrate them into the service of the Lord within and outside the Church. The group meets regularly on specific days known to the team.
Evangelism Team: This department co-ordinates regular evangelism / outreach activities that will demonstrate our primary assignment as a Church to the immediate community and the nation at large. Such activities include “Benevolence Outreach”, “Prison Outreach”, General Street Evangelism and Open-Air Concerts. The group meets regularly on specific days known to the team.
Music Team: Aroma of Grace, as we called them, is the team responsible for leading the Church, into God’s presence. The emphasis is not placed on professionalism BUT on the ANOINTING to minister professionally. This group works closely with the vision of the Church to make worship relevant not only in the local Church but also in the BODY of Christ as a whole. This team meets, currently, every Saturday at 8:00AM.
Drama Team: This group aims at using the “art” of dramatization to build and encourage the Church as a body and to evangelize the community at large. The group meets regularly on specific days known to the team.
Dance Team: This group is a unique worship team that aims at ministering to the Lord and His Church. This team uses creative banners and dance to “LIFT-UP” the standard of God & His Word, during corporate worship and other occasions. The group meets regularly on specific days known to the team.
Publicity &Communication Team: This group looks after the Presentations and Representations of the Church, Her Vision and Objects to the members and general public. The team watches and guards the “IMAGE” and/or PROFILE of everything relating to the Church, making sure it stays relevant to the Members and the communities that the vision is aimed at. This group manages, in collaboration with the Senior Pastor, Weekly Bulletin, Monthly Newsletter, Website, ALL advertisements and other Public Relations’ Media for the Church. The group meets regularly on specific days known to the team.
Technical Team: The group ensures that ALL the technical needs of the Church are met, maintained and updated – i.e. Audio, Visual and Computer Systems. The team is responsible for providing audio and video coverage for every Church Service; provides audio and visual materials of the Church for sale and maintain the archives of all Church audio/visual materials. The group meets regularly on specific days known to the team.
Protocol Team: This group works closely with the Senior Pastor and the Guest Ministers of the Church. The team is responsible, as designated by the Senior Pastor, for the safe transportation and general hospitality of the Minister they are assigned to.
Ushers & Greeters: This group serves as the first point of contact in every Church service. Their friendly gestures complimented their firm understanding to maintain “order” in all Church services. This team also maintains close liaison with the Church Administrator in relation to coordinating and safe-keeping of collections in Church. The group meets regularly on specific days known to the team.
Altar Services: This group, in liaison with the Senior Pastor, minister to the needs of the Pulpit Ministers. The group meets regularly on specific days known to the team.
Sanitation & Decoration Team: This group is responsible for keeping the Church auditoriums and premises in a clean and presentable state. The group meets regularly on specific days known to the team.
Hospitality Team: This team, in liaison with the Senior Pastor, is responsible for the provision and/or supervision of catering, welfare and general hospitality in the Church. The group meets regularly on specific days known to the team.
Youth Fellowship: The youth group, as implied, is aimed at developing and mentoring this adventurous and impressionable age-group. Providing a save haven and a grooming ground, through the Word of God, for potentials and destinies that are vulnerable to peer pressure and bad societal influence. This team meets, currently, every Friday at 7:00pm.
They regularly hold an eagerly anticipated and well-attended “Youth Day” every year to celebrate what it means to be satisfied in Christ and to let others in their age group know that you don’t have to compromise with the “world” to fit in.
Children’s Fellowship: The aim of this group is to “train” the Children in the way of the Lord, as the phrase says: “catch them young”, this time for Christ, in the “language” they understand. The children are taught classic Bible stories in dramatic ways that will give them understanding of the Word of God, inspire and birth in them the desires to aim for the best in life. This team meets, currently, every Sunday at 11:30AM.
Men’s Fellowship: The men’s group, popularly known as The Champions For Christ, as implied, is aimed at developing and nurturing the “CHAMPION” inside every man, because we believe every man is a born achiever and as a group we’ll not only support each other but also help to bring out the best in each as we follow the precepts of the Word of God for any man that would be successful in the Home, Church and in the Society. It is therefore important for ALL men in the Church to be part of this group. The group meets every Friday at 7PM.
Women’s Fellowship: The women’s group, popularly known as The Daughters of Sarah, as implied, is aimed at meeting the specific needs of every woman in the Church, because we believe every woman is a born with a virtue that makes her stand out VICTORIOUSLY in the Home, Church and in the Society at large. It is therefore important for ALL women in the Church to be part of this group. The group meets every Friday at 7PM.
Single’s Fellowship: As implied, the group is aimed at meeting the specific needs of the “single” men and ladies in the Church, although they are part of the “Champions For Christ” and “Victorious Women” groups. The Single’s Fellowship teaches and encourages each other especially in understanding that “you can be single and still be fulfilled in Christ” because singleness is NOT a deficiency, neither is it an abomination.
