Sunday Worship Service:
We observe Sundays as the Lord’s Day and as such a day for major worship service. Our members are required to keep this day in the honor of the Lord (Acts 20: 7, Rev.1: 10).
The Lord’s Supper:
We observe the Lord’s Supper at least once in a month. Our members are encouraged to prayerfully prepare for the observance of the Lord’s Supper (1Cor.11: 23-32).
Water Baptism:
We practice Water Baptism by immersion for those who have repented and believed in Christ. We required this ordinance for membership (Matt.28: 19-20, Acts 2: 38).
Naming and Dedication of Children:
We encourage parents to dedicate their children/babies unto the Lord by the Pastor or one appointed by the church (Luke 2: 22-23, Mark 10: 13-16).
Marriage:
We recognize a valid marriage entered into in according to the laws of the land but for our members we require the Blessing of the marriage (Gen.1: 27-28, Mal.2: 14). The Blessing is a way of ensuring that the members acknowledge the Christian’s concept of the marriage ordinance. Premarital counseling is required before the blessing.
Our Philosophy
Two texts of scriptures which form the bases of Bishop’s philosophy of ministry are Phi.1: 20-27 and Col.1: 27-29 from where the mission statement of WGIC is derived: “… We preach Him, warning and teaching every man to present everyone complete in Christ.”
Following the model of Christ, Bishop Osei-Tutu’s life is contextualized in Christ (Phi.1: 20-27). To him the Gospel is the purpose or rational behind his existence, activities, and interests. Therefore, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is central to Bishop’s teaching and practices. Also being convinced of the power of God’s Word, he believes that man’s Liberty is in the Truth (John 8: 32) therefore his messages are rooted in the Word of God and he challenges his audience to buy the truth (invest money, time and effort to get the word in them) and sell it not (Pro.23: 23).
